What will your dash say?

Everyone has a dash. The dash is between the day you were born and the day you will die. The dash is the explanation and impact of your life.

One author challenges each of us to write our own epitaph. What would you like the final earthly statement of the record of your life to say? When all the dreams are over and all that's left is the reality of facts, what would your dash say? If today you had to give an account, what would the dash say? How might you change what the dash says if given the opportunity?

The Apostle Paul ties the dash of his life to the purpose of his life. Listen to his purpose statement and how it might be the thing he lived and died for: "But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God." ( Acts 20:24). Paul wanted to spend his life spreading the gospel.

Let me encourage and challenge you to write your personal purpose statement. Then, see if it's worth being your dash - your life statement.

Blessings,
Pastor Donnie
