Abandon Meets Every Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm!
Abandon is our weekly opportunity for students to get together and worship using music and media styles that are relevant to todays teenager. At every Abandon gathering students will be given an opportunity to experience Christ through worship, message, and multi-media.
Purpose of CBC's Abandon Ministry:
Keeping with Philippians 4:8-9 the main purpose of Abandon is to encourage all teens to abandon anything that is not true, that is not noble, that is not pure, that is not lovely, anything that is not admirable, if it does not excellent or praise worthy, we encourage students to Abandon these things to help gain a closer relationship with Christ. All Students will be encouraged to know that God has not Abandon them nor will He ever.
Accomplishing the purpose of Abandon:
Abandon's purpose will be accomplished mainly during the Wednesday evening meeting time, through teaching the truths of scripture, upbeat worship, creative media, and the building of real authentic relationships with the students who attend, Abandoned will share the Truths of God, focusing on the love of Christ and His saving grace.
How Abandon fits into the overall student ministry plan:
Abandon's place in CBC's Student Ministry fulfills the role of being our front door ministry in attracting lost students into a relationship with Christ. Abandon is NOT a seeker sensitive service, it is a worship time designed to lift up Jesus Christ and watch Him draw all men to Himself (John 12:32). Abandon will encourage the strong believer to grow in their faith, challenge those Christians who are just starting their life with Christ to grow closer to Him daily, and confront the lost with the reality of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 4:8-9 8 Finally, brothers,
Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.
9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
