The Administrative Council was created with adoption of revised Articles of Guidance by the Church in 1999. The functions of the new Council were formerly assigned to 3 standing committees that operated independently of each other - Stewardship, Personnel and Trustees. The council meets monthly and reports its actions to the church through minutes and the Annual Church Conference. The Administrative Council is the governing body of the church. The primary functions of the Church Administrative Council are to:
- Determine policy for the operation of the Church consistent with the Church's mission.
- Hold in trust the church properties.
- Be responsible for developing the annual church budget for approval by the church.
- Recommend to the congregation annual and long range objectives and goals.
- Evaluate program achievements for all core ministry programs to assure consistency with the church mission.
- Conduct an annual eval uation of the Senior Pastor.
- Make an annual report to the Church.
The Administrative Council consists of nine members including the Senior Pastor, the church administrator a paid staff member designated by the Senior Pastor and 6 lay members. The chair of the administrative body is selected from the lay members. The term of office for the designated paid staff member is one year. The term of office for each lay member is three years. The Church Administrator serves as an ex-officio member of the Council.
